Welcome to Simply Legal: In the News Segment, My firm is representing the family of Djuan Octavious Jackson — a father tragically shot and killed by Officer J.C. Rose of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on October 28, 2024.

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT :

Djuan was involved in a non-lethal altercation and armed only with a butter knife. Yet, instead of de-escalating, Officer Rose opened fire — shooting Djuan multiple times in the torso. Shockingly, he then handcuffed Djuan’s lifeless body.
We’ve filed a federal lawsuit alleging excessive force and violations of Djuan’s Fourth Amendment rights, especially in light of his known mental health struggles.
We’re seeking full accountability for Djuan’s family — because justice demands more from those sworn to protect us.
